Physical Benefits of the Therahoop™?
.
The Therahoop™ functions as a unique form of physical exercise. Therahooping improves the cardiovascular system by strengthening the heart and lungs, reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes. In addition, the Therahoop™ exercises the core muscles, improving the range of motion, increasing stability and balance, while also protecting against osteoporosis.
Physiologically, the Therahoop™ increases the flexibility of the spine and stimulates the spinal nerve roots. Each pair of nerve roots innervates the vital organs of the abdominal and pelvic cavity including the liver, spleen, kidneys, intestines and reproductive system optimizing their function. In addition, the Therahoop™ massages these internal organs.
The weight, thickness, and diameter of the Therahoop™ contribute to its therapeutic value. The weight is necessary to exert a specific amount of pressure on the vital organs and muscles underlying the skin. This form of massage, encourages the circulation of blood and lymph assisting to detoxify the body and restore optimal health.
Clinically, we have found that Therahooping improves digestive health, relieving many common complaints such as, bloating, gas, weak digestion, constipation, reflux and distention. Naturopathic medicine considers a healthy gastrointestinal environment to be a cornerstone for good health. The Therahoop™ has also helped those with cardiac and circulatory disorders, insomnia, fatigue, PMS, infertility, menopause, diabetes, impotence, back pain, hip and pelvic rehabilitation, as well as, encouraging weight loss.
Therahooping is a preventative and therapeutic type of exercise that is also fun. Enjoy!!! We recommend starting with 5 minutes and slowly building up to 20 minutes per workout.
Fact ~ Therahooping burns 100 calories every 10 minutes!
Chinese Medicine and the Therahoop™
According to the Chinese map of the body, Therahooping stimulates the Dai Mai, or belt vessel that encircles the body at the waist. This channel ties together the 12 major meridians or channels in the body, thereby, opening the 12 primary meridians in the body allowing qi (energy) to flow more freely. The specific acupuncture points stimulated by the Therahoop correlate with the kidney, liver and spleen channels of Chinese medicine and are highly beneficial for reproductive issues in both men and women.
